Christmas period

Hello

It has been a busy christmas this year but hope everyone had a good one.

Well i have been back at college for 2 weeks now so i have alot to say about the christmas period and college.

Firstly, I have successfuly finished my tuesday night band rehersals now and performed on stage in kirkcaldy. For some of the students it was a new experiance but for most it was just another performance. This now means i have finished my teaching experiance there. I thourghly enjoyed the experiance and learned alot from other teachers. I assessed students and helped them with peices for the performance. I have gained so much knowledge and experience in teaching which will be very useful towards my graded unit. I am planning to develop better communication skills in the process of teaching ability and hopefully i will gain more knowledge in time.

Secondly, I performed my first HND gig at the theatre in college. It was fun to watch everybody's performance as we were all performing beatles songs. The night was very well thought out but most students were not happy performing to each other as none of the public came to watch. I feel that the performance's were really good but you dont always get the best of audiences and you just have to play and get on with the gig. I feel this was a learning curve to help develop the idea that things dont always go to plan and you must always have a plan B.

Thirdly, College has been fairly stress free this week but the studying for the theory exam has been hard but must push through. In band practice we have been placed into new bands and i am in the commitments band. It is brill i love it although i am finding it hard to try to explain my point of view with others in the band as they are quite strong minded. With this situation i will have to speak to the individual and explain my feeling and come to a compromise. I feel this will help my graded unit as i will be able to communicate with my peers better.

Finally, i wish to say have a good week and will catch you next time.
